Brandi and Michael are getting married in June of 2026 at Wild Basin Lodge and booked my top package for their wedding day. We wanted to pull out all the stops for their engagement photos, but Brandi isn’t a fan of the cold. Instead we did a quick winter engagement session to get their “Save the Date” announcements out.
Brandi loved the photos in Rocky Mountain National Park, so we scheduled their session for a Sunday in November and it turned out to be a really cold and snowy one. The first part of the session went a little easier, since they wore warm matching Broncos outfits. They cuddled in the snow and we got some wintery landscape photos before heading to the next location.
The cold was pretty intense this day, it got down into the 20s while we were shooting and there was a full snow storm underway. Chris (video) and I prepared the spot in Moraine Park by the river for them to come down and photograph quickly. They came down for about 5 minutes and we captured some beautiful shots of the two of them and then they rushed back to their truck.
That was enough cold for Brandi, who was now wearing an elegant red velvet dress with a deep slit up her leg. We pivoted and found a lovely room with a fireplace at The Stanley Hotel for them to warm up next to. Brandi picked two amazing dresses for her engagement session and they fit the elegance of the Stanley perfectly. We got some photos inside and out and called it a day.
They will get another session in Spring when the flowers are out and the temperatures are not in the 20s!
