Sam and Tanner bought my top wedding photo/video package back in February for their April 2025 wedding at Della Terra. They hung out near my booth (at the EPWA Wedding Show) for a while and were excited about my formal group photos because they love their crew and want to make sure they get great photos too. When they came back to my booth later to ask more questions they wanted to know the difference between an engagement session and an “Adventure Engagement” session (which is only included in both my Aspen and Aspen + Video packages). I explained that the Adventure engagement sessions went farther, longer and that they could choose anything they wanted anywhere in Colorado that they wanted.
Tanner wrote me in June and said that they both played piano and wanted some piano photos AND they loved my work with waterfalls. I love a challenge! I looked up lot’s of waterfalls and lot’s of places near waterfalls until I called a Meeker Park Lodge which is right near the Wild Basin section of Rocky Mountain National Park. This over 100 year old historic cabin in the mountains offers horse rides, cabins, games and is just a lovely place in the mountains to be. They graciously allowed us to come and take over their space for an hour or so at the piano before we headed into the Wild Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park.
I just can’t say enough good things about this day, and neither can Sam & Tanner! There were magical surprises throughout the day, starting with the horses at Meeker Park Lodge, the water raging through the canyon along our hike. The little bit of rain that cleared into sunshine while we were at the most stunning of the waterfalls. The joy of being out with clients in gorgeous surroundings never, ever gets old. Sam & Tanner were insanely brave throughout the day, including crawling through waterfalls and into the ice cold river in the pitch black at the end of our shoot.
All in all we met at Meeker Park Lodge at 3pm and got back to our cars from the hike at around 10:30pm! That my friends is an adventure engagement. It sounds like a long time to take photos, but in reality we had time to go over all the details and desires of the wedding day. We found out about their family, personalities, relationship, etc. All of this will make their wedding photography so much more tailored to them and the day much more enjoyable and relaxed… and we had such a blast!

Wow. Gretchen did an INCREDIBLE job photographing my huge extended family in Estes Park. We had 5 little ones, uncles, aunts, grandparents, and parents. Somehow she was able to take the most beautiful pictures with everyone looking at the camera. I love how natural the pictures came out. Everyone's personality came through. Gretchen made sure she got all of the picture combinations we wanted. She was also great at selecting the location to take the pictures.

Gretchen photographed our family during our family vacation in Fraser. She was very accommodating! The moment I saw Gretchen's work, I knew she would be our photographer.. we waited until pretty close up to our (very small) wedding to decide to hire one, which added an additional layer of stress with everything coming up so quickly. We also live in Texas, our wedding was in Boulder, CO. She is so friendly and so professional, which made the process very smooth as she helped me identify what I wanted out of this experience, amidst all of the chaos.

Gretchen shot our wedding in May, and also did some engagement shots for us in the previous fall. We worked with Gretchen for our engagement shoot and our wedding. Not only is she incredibly organized and professional, working with her is downright FUN.
