Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Photos

Oh how I love these two! I met them at the Boulder Wedding Showcase in the beginning of 2020. Jonah proposed to Ashley on New Year’s Eve. They are both from the south and moved to Ft. Collins for Ashley’s work and love living in the mountains. They were the lucky winners of a raffle for a free engagement session that I gave away at that wedding showcase. Because of COVID we spent a long time patiently waiting for the world to open back up. When Rocky Mountain National Park opened up for photographers I jumped at the chance to get them up at Sprague Lake.
The day was a bit stormy, in fact it became a rather intense June snow storm about 2 hours after we left the mountains. We pushed the shoot to earlier in the day and skirted the weather. Their love lit up the day anyway. They are absolutely adorable together and were easy clients to walk around the lake with and take photos of them in front of their beloved mountains. We headed up to Bear Lake afterwards but the Louisiana born Ashley got elevation sickness and we had to end that part of the shoot quickly. As it turned out it was great timing, the storm started when we were headed down the mountains.
I’m hoping to shoot their New Orleans wedding once COVID lifts enough for them to plan it!
