Lexa and Andre got married at Boettcher Mansion at the end of October 2021 on top of Lookout Mountain in Golden, Colorado. Boettcher Mansion is a gem of a venue in our area. Even though Boettcher Mansion lies just outside of the town of Golden and only minutes away from I-70, it offers stunning mountain views and a charming old hunting cabin.
The most distinct part of this wedding was Lexa’s crown. The crown was a traditional Norwegian bridal crown that she wore to perfection with her fully hooped princess style ball gown wedding dress. I photograph weddings because I enjoy being around people in love, while also using my art of photography to make their memories sparkle. An added bonus to my job is when the location is stunning, and the families and people who attend are all kind and loving as well. That was this wedding (and many others that I am lucky enough to be a part of).
The interior of the mansion is so beautifully attentive to weddings. The multiple rooms afford large places to get ready and small ones off the side to allow for space. Lexa’s mother looking at her in the mirror in a private side room after she put on her veil, was one of my favorite moments of the year. Their ceremony on the back deck was poignant and rowdily attended by friends and family, but the reception was lit! After some funny and some spiritual toasts the cake cutting took place to whoops, and the dance floor became packed with dancers bouncing to hip-hop, R&B and the wedding classics.
As a parting gift to the couple I try to include a final shot (that I set up while my second photographer is photographing the reception). The couples that I have worked with love this, not only because of the magic I try to bring to this final photograph, but because it’s near the end of the day, all the events are finished and they just get to relax with each other for 5 minutes before returning to the madness of the reception.
This wedding was the perfect way to end my 2021 wedding season, my favorite season yet!
