Emma & Marty live in Chicago but aspired to get married in the mountains of Colorado. They had visited Breckenridge for a bicycle trip a few years ago and just loved the idea of being nestled in the mountains for their nuptials. Emma’s parents and sister flew in all the way from Australia (where Emma was born and raised) to enjoy the wedding day in the Colorado Rockies.
The Groom, Marty is an absolute card. He was quick with a joke and a smile the entire day. But the way that Emma’s face lit up when she saw him at the altar told you everything about their love. Marty is extremely tall and thin, so we had fun playing with the synchronicity of the tall thin trees near Sevens Restaurant. We were blessed with a brief, but stunning rainbow as we were taking the couple’s photographs. Both the reception and the wedding were held at Sevens, which in the winter is a restaurant at the base of the gondola lift for Breckenridge mountain. The gondola is an easter egg in many of the photographs I took.
This destination wedding was a joyful, vacation and party for Emma and Marty’s friends and family ending in a beautiful rendition of guests circling the bride and groom while everyone sang along to The Beatles’ “All You Need is Love”.
