I am always interested in why my couples book me, especially ones that I love to work with, because I would like to work with a lot more of them. When I asked Darrell why he booked me, he said it was because I was a landscape photographer as well as a portrait/wedding photographer and he knew that I would get great pictures of them at their wedding in Grand Lake, on the back side of Rocky Mountain National Park. This is what I love to hear!
Emily wanted photos taken in Rocky Mountain National Park and the area that I suggested to start their engagement shoot at is very muddy. I’ve brought clients there before and they backed away. Emily had on an adorable dress with white converse sneakers. So when we started going a few inches into the mud I thought that was the end of it. If you look at the photos, you will see that the Converses are now brown.
Darrell & Emily are endlessly silly in love. Near the end of the shoot I let them just go play in the woods for a while and creeped around them like a fox in the weeds with my camera. Their engagement photos are just the beginning of creating stunning Colorado photographs of them that they can treasure for life. I cannot wait for their wedding next month, we are going to have a blast in Grand Lake!
