For this wedding, I was helping out another photographer with a two-day wedding. The couple was having a Catholic ceremony on Friday and another ceremony on the mountain Saturday, and the photographer could only shoot their wedding on Saturday, so I came out and shot Friday’s Catholic ceremony, wedding walk-through at San Sophia Overlook, and the rehearsal dinner for the couple. Telluride is a dream destination for a wedding, and I was so happy to be a part of Catharine and Alex’s day there!

We started at St. Patrick’s church that was built in 1896. This beautiful little church is nestled against a wall of the box canyon that forms Telluride. Catharine looked stunning in an empire style, halter-neck wedding dress with touches of bling at the waist, timeless and classy. Her grandfather, Joe is a deacon and officiated most of the ceremony along with the pastor for the church, Reverend Mariusz Wirkowski.

When the ceremony was over there was a short receiving line outside of the church and then the couple decided to walk through Telluride to the gondola that would bring us all up to San Sophia Overlook where the ceremony would be the next day. To say this location is stunning is an understatement. I took some quick photos of them up at the location and then headed down to a very secretive caterer’s space in Telluride to capture some photos of their rehearsal dinner.
