YMCA of the Rockies Spring Wedding Photos

Kelly & Ryan had a LOT going on before their wedding on May 6, 2022. They had just moved from Virginia two weeks before so that Ryan could start a new job in Denver and were expecting their first child! They chose YMCA of the Rockies because of the amazing Colorado views and the “laid back vibe” of this RMNP adjacent wedding destination. Most of the guests had just arrived from Texas for this small wedding at the Overlook Chapel and were a bit overwhelmed at 8,500 feet altitude. It’s not only the altitude that is challenging, but the dryness is exceptional as well.

Their beautiful ceremony included their dogs, good friends, family and guests from as far away as Holland. The wedding reception was held at the intimate Pine Room where some buffet was put out, and the entire wedding got on the dance floor for some partying. Big shout out to Suit and Tie DJs who absolutely rocked this party. From the buttons they handed out as prizes to the dance competition, and Eddie’s complete commitment to making a hopping party, they completely rocked it… and so did the bride! Pregnant as she was, Kelly got down to the country/hip-hop first dance with some lighted sneakers and lot’s of stank-face. Their guests were not feeling the bouquet or garter tosses though. Both Kelly & Ryan had to launch twice, because the first time neither the women, nor the men would touch the thrown object!

The other really distinctive part of their wedding was a beautifully designed geode cake created by La Momo Maes Bakery. The couple are both “rock nerds” and loved the idea of having a rock themed cake. Please join me in giving this couple a hearty Colorado welcome and hopes for their family’s future together here!
