Sam & Tanner got married at the end of April at the iconic Della Terra Mountain Chateau. This couple found me at the Estes Park Wedding Show in 2024 and I loved them from the moment I met them! They hired Chris and I for one of my top packages and got the full adventure engagement experience with us.
Sam had seen fun “formals” (group photos) in my portfolio and her bridesmaid crew of 10 were a blast to work with. After Sam got into her custom designed wedding dress we headed to the bridge for the First Look. Sam looked STUNNING in her wedding dress and Tanner agreed!
We attempted a quick trip into Rocky Mountain National Park to get their couple wedding photos, but about 30 seconds after we got out of the car the mountains started doing mountain things and we had cold rain flying on mountain winds straight into us. We took just a few photos of Sam and the couple and it was time to run back to the shelter of the car.
When we got back to Della Terra the rain was coming down hard. The couple hunkered down and waited for the weather to pass, which it kindly did 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony. The ceremony was full of tears, laughter, commitment, stories, their two Pomeranian dogs delivering the rings and lot’s and lot’s of love. With a rose petal exit over the bridge the couple began their life as newlyweds by grabbing a snack in the gazebo and then joining friends & family for Formal photos… and then it decided to rain again! We just barely finished as the downpour returned and the couple escaped in the golf cart to get inside.
The food for their wedding was delicious and prepared by one of my favorite caterers, Greens Point Catering. Their beautiful wedding cake and the very popular treats were all created by Toni at Alire Bakehouse. The reception started with some killer dance moves by the couple during their first dance and then tears of joy and transition as they danced with parents. Eddie from Suit & Tie DJs (my highest recommendation for a DJ company) proved once again why I would hire them as your wedding DJ first. He got out the button for “Party Starter”, the clear party starter stepped forward and the party did not stop until it was time to go.
After the reception the couple headed down a line of bubbles blown by their friends and exited into their new life as a married couple.

Gretchen shot our wedding in May, and also did some engagement shots for us in the previous fall. Wow. Gretchen did an INCREDIBLE job photographing my huge extended family in Estes Park. We had 5 little ones, uncles, aunts, grandparents, and parents. Somehow she was able to take the most beautiful pictures with everyone looking at the camera. I love how natural the pictures came out. Everyone's personality came through. Gretchen made sure she got all of the picture combinations we wanted. She was also great at selecting the location to take the pictures.

Gretchen did AMAZING job as our photographer! The moment I saw Gretchen's work, I knew she would be our photographer.. we waited until pretty close up to our (very small) wedding to decide to hire one, which added an additional layer of stress with everything coming up so quickly. We also live in Texas, our wedding was in Boulder, CO. She is so friendly and so professional, which made the process very smooth as she helped me identify what I wanted out of this experience, amidst all of the chaos.
There's a little button that says that I can add photos and so I went through our album again looking to select a few that could capture our experience but A. THERE ARE SO MANY. She is not kidding when she tells you this, even for an elopement style wedding! B. They are so personal. I cry every time I look at them, with joy.
